Review: Replicat

Replicat, Replicat, what are they feeding you?

If you mix a healthy those of what made Balatro great and add some memory (the game you played where you had to look for sets of 2 images) and then add some cool cat memes… you get Replicat. A perfect blend of all these elements cooked to perfection.

Replicat is a fun, addictive roguelike where you look for catmemes and score points. That’s the whole point. You get several decks to accomplish your goals and to make the matter more challenging as you have to get a certain set of points each round to progress further into the furry world of memory and cat memes. Along the way you can purchase extra cards for your deck (that you lose between runs) and trinkets to make scoring easier the further you go, but it’s always balanced in such a way that makes it challenging but keeps the fun.

I played the demo of this game repeatedly and got hooked so fast… I felt like I was the one taking the catnip, but the game got it’s claws in me (how many more catpuns can I put in this piece?). If you like roguelikes and love those that are accessible and easy to pick up, even as a disabled person, you don’t need quick reflexes or fast button prompts, you just can play at your own leisure and make the purrrfect combinations. (ha, one more so it seems). I highly recommend Replicat.
