My writing process

Every writer has a process. I even have one for this blog. I have kept this blog for over a year now and never written once about my process.

Most blogposts need to simmer a bit, need to settle a bit before I publish them. Some I publish in the heat of the moment because the debate is still going on and I need to get my voice out there.

For the simmering part, I mostly write in writing software and over the years I have tried several different kinds, but none as easy as Scrivener.

Scrivener is everything you want in writing software. Trust me, I was as skeptical as you were when I first started using it.

The cool thing about it is that, with the touch of a button, have no more distractions while writing, except those around you. Scrivener has its own built-in full-screen mode, but this isn’t even its most powerful feature.

The real power of scrivener comes from the fact that you can write a book non-linear and keep all the files neatly in one document. Scrivener uses a binder (as they call it) and in this binder you can store your research material your chapters, pieces of chapters. Really anything related to your book.

You can divide your screen in 2 so you can read the research and work with it into your own manuscript. Things like that are all possible in scrivener.

When you now want to try it, Literature and Latté have a 30 day trial period when you download scrivener and after that you can get scrivener for a reasonable price of 45 dollar. If you participate and succeed in Nanowrimo you even get a 50 percent discount coupon.

You can download your trial over at literature and latté here

Every post is written first in scrivener 3, which you can get a 30 day free trial of here at literature and latte.
