autism awareness month

It’s that time of year again. Joy and festivities all around autism. Autistics are lauded and their differences celebrated. Autistics are praised in media. A what a month is april.

Nope, april is a month most autistics hate. Our safespace online is bombarded by autism warrior parents and Anti-vaxxers. Organisations and other folks are out to spread hate and misinformation about autism and we autistics are in the minority in the fight to clear our identity and defend future generations against these attacks.

April is the month that autism speaks, that shit organisation that all autistics hate calls to light it up blue and also spreads more misinformation than a priest during a pedophelia hearing.

I am one of those autistics that fights and mostly doesn’t back out of discussions surrounding autism were misinformation is being spouted by people who don’t know anything about the subject matter.

It’s also fun to setup a discussion in such a way that an anti-vaxxer ensnares themselves and then backs out of that convo only to call you pathetic and parent bullying in another. (really happened btw).
